We read The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. This was our first experience with a chapter book like format. This original version has very few pictures thus requiring the imagination to do the illustrating. When we were finished Peyton jumped up and ran to the table to draw a picture of herself with the cherished Velveteen Rabbit.

The Velveteen Rabbit - our first non picture book
We read The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. This was our first experience with a chapter book like format. This original version has very few pictures thus requiring the imagination to do the illustrating.
